“Plans are nothing; planning is everything.” - Dwight D. Eisenhower You won’t believe me but I’ve used over 50 task management tools. I’m such a task management freak! Before I even start working on a project, I’ll first make sure I create tasks properly. I know this a bad habit. At least for me. Because I end up wasting a lot of time doing this. To-do lists really are a waste of time in most cases. I solved this problem with the help of The Eisenhower Matrix. As a President, Eisenhower had to face tough challenges and tasks each day. That’s why he invented this famous principle. In the matrix, you divide your tasks based on urgency and importance. The first quadrant represents urgent and important tasks that you need to do immediately. The second quadrant consists tasks that are important but not urgent. These are the tasks you can schedule to do later. The third quadrant is the urgent but not the important tasks. Tasks that can be delegated. The last quadrant tasks are neither important nor urgent. These tasks should be eliminated. If you use The Eisenhower Matrix, your concentration will be only on the important and urgent tasks. Everything else is eliminated resulting in an increase in your productivity.
